NAJMUL FALAH, STRUKTUR POPULASI DAN ANALISIS DIVERSITAS PRIMATA DI KAWASAN TAMAN HUTAN RAYA POCUT MEURAH INTAN PROVINSI ACEH. Banda Aceh Program Studi Magister Pendidikan Biologi,2023

Abstract

Primates are one of the orders of Class Mammalia which has more than 350 species in the world. The presence of primates is diminishing due to the habitat conditions that are experiencing shrinkage from the original area. The existence of primates is very important for the balance of ecosystems. Pocut Meurah Intan Forest Park in Aceh Province is one of the habitats inhabited by primates need to be studied trough research that aims to determine the population structure, diversity, and density of primates population. This research was conducted in September 2018 until November 2019 in Forest Park. The research method was conducted by survey with five observation station points. The results of the study revealed that there are five species from the Primate Order namely Simphalangus syndactylus (Siamang) with a population density of 0,011 indiv/km2, Trachypithecus cristatus (Silvery Lutung) 0,051 indiv/km2, Presbytis thomasi (Thomas’s Langur) 0,101 indiv/km2, Macaca fascicularis (Long-tailed Macaque) 0,146 indiv/km2 and Macaca nemestrina (Pig-tailed Macaque) 0,043 indiv/km2. Diversity index known Ĥ = 1,37. The conclusion was that population density ranged from 0,011 indiv/km2 to 0,146 indiv/km2 with a medium level of diversity. Keywords: Population, Diversity, Density, Primates, Pocut Meurah Intan.
