Arecaceae merupakan salah satu spesies yang banyak ditemukan di indonesia. arecaceae dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai obat-obatan, pangan, bahan bangunan, dan tanaman hias. sehingga dapat dijadikan sebagai sumber belajar keanekaragaman hayati tingkat spesies yaitu dalam bentuk video, modul dan buku saku. tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui spesies arecaceae yang terdapat di kecamatan montasik kabupaten aceh besar, mengetahui manfaat spesies arecaceae, dan mengetahui pemanfaatan arecaceae sebagai media pembelajaran biologi. pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode observasi, eksploratif, wawancara dan studi literatur. data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif, sehingga diperoleh hasil penelitian bahwa ditemukan 15 spesies arecaceae yang dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat di kecamatan montasik kabupaten aceh besar. adapun manfaat spesies arecaceae yang digunakan sebagai pengobatan, pangan, industri bangunan dan tanaman hias, serta karakteristik umum dari spesies arecaceae yang dibuat menjadi buku saku sebagai media pembelajaran bagi peserta didik. kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ditemukan 15 jenis arecaceae di lokasi penelitian paling banyak ialah di desa weu krueng 10 jenis arecaceae, desa mon ara terdapat 9 jenis arecaceae, diikuti dengan desa bueng tujoh ditemukan 8 jenis arecaceae, desa peurumping terdapat 7 jenis arecaceae, dan yang paling sedikit desa baroh terdapat 6 jenis arecaceae.

Arecaceae is one of the species that is often found in Indonesia. Arecaceae can be used as medicine, food, building materials and ornamental plants. So it can be used as a source for studying species-level biodiversity, namely in the form of videos, modules and pocket books. The aim of this research is to find out the Arecaceae species found in Montasik District, Aceh Besar Regency, find out the benefits of Arecaceae, and find out the use of Arecaceae as a biology learning medium. Data collection was carried out using observation, exploratory, interview and literature study methods. The data was analyzed descriptively qualitatively, so that the research results showed that 15 species of Arecaceae were found which were used by the community in Montasik District, Aceh Besar Regency. The benefits of Arecaceae species which are used as medicine, food, building industry and ornamental plants, as well as general characteristics of Arecaceae species which are made into a pocket book as a learning medium for students. The conclusion of this research is that 15 types of Arecaceae were found in the most research locations, namely in Weu Krueng village 10 types of Arecaceae, Mon Ara village there were 9 types of Arecaceae, followed by Bueng Tujoh village where 8 types of Arecaceae were found, Peurumping village there were 7 types of Arecaceae, and At least in Baroh village there are 6 types of Arecaceae.
