Tingkat keanekaragaman jenis vegetasi juga dapat dilihat dari jumlah individu dalam setiap jenis. penelitian ini mengenai analisis vegetasi jenis, jumlah anggrek, cara tumbuh, indeks nilai penting, indeks dominansi, indeks keanekaragaman hayati dan status konservasi famili orchidaceae di hutan lindung desa damaran baru, kecamatan timang gajah, kabupaten bener meriah perlu dilakukan. penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey explorative yang merupakan metode observasi secara langsung di lokasi penelitian yang dilakukan. teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode purposive sampling melalui tahapan baik dengan cara pengambilan hasil foto atau gambar dan spesimen hasilnya diidentifikasi dimana tiap-tiap petak sampling dengan luas keseluruhan 15000 m2. berdasarkan hasil pengamatan dan identifikasi jenis yang ditemukan di hutan desa damaran baru memiliki 6 jenis anggrek terdiri dari beberapa jenis anggrek teresterial dan epifit, yang terdiri jenis anggrek epifit memiliki 3 jenis anggrek yaitu coelogyne asperata (anggrek mutiara), bulbophyllum pectinatum, cymbidium sp. dan jenis anggrek epifit memiliki 3 jenis anggrek yaitu coelogyne asperata (anggrek mutiara), bulbophyllum pectinatum dan cymbidium. identifikasi jenis yang ditemukan di hutan desa damaran baru memiliki 6 jenis anggrek terdiri dari beberapa jenis anggrek, terdiri dari dendrobium uniflorum, coelogyne asperata, neuwieda zollingeri (rchb.f), phaius sp., bulbophyllum pectinatum, dan cymbidium sp.

This study is about the analysis of vegetation types, number of orchids, growth methods, Importance Value Index, Dominance Index, Biodiversity Index and conservation status of the Orchidaceae Family in the Damaran Baru Village Protection Forest, Timang Gajah District, Bener Meriah Regency needs to be done. Based on the results of observations and identification of the types found in the Damaran Baru Village Forest has 6 types of orchids consisting of several types of terrestrial and epiphytic orchids, which consist of epiphytic orchids have 3 types of orchids, namely Coelogyne asperata (Pearl Orchid), Bulbophyllum pectinatum, Cymbidium sp. and the type of epiphytic orchid has 3 types of orchids, namely Coelogyne asperata (Pearl Orchid), Bulbophyllum pectinatum and Cymbidium.
