M. Wafi Ahlami, UJI AKTIVITAS EKSTRAK DAUN GAHARU (AQUILARIA MALACCENSIS LAMK.) SEBAGAI ANTI-HELMINTH TERHADAP ASCARIDIA GALLI. Banda Aceh Fakultas MIPA Farmasi,2024

Penggunaan anti-helminth secara berkelanjutan menyebabkan perkembangan resistensi obat anti cacing terus meningkat sementara prevalensi penyakit cacingan masih sangat tinggi. aquilaria malaccensis berpotensi menjadi anti-helminth alternatif karena adanya kandungan senyawa-senyawa yang bersifat anti-helminth. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya aktivitas ekstrak daun a. malaccensis sebagai penghambat pertumbuhan ascaridia galli serta untuk mengetahui jumlah konsentrasi terkecil ekstrak yang mampu memberikan aktivitas tersebut. ekstraksi daun a. malaccensis dilakukan dengan metode maserasi bertingkat dan menggunakan pelarut n-heksana, etil asetat serta etanol yang telah didestilasi, kemudian terhadap ekstrak dilakukan karakterisasi. penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental laboratorium dengan rancangan penelitian the posttest-only with control group design. variasi konsentrasi ekstrak yaitu 5; 10; 15; dan 20%. simplisia daun a. malaccensis mengandung kadar air sebesar 7,8%. ekstrak n-heksana daun a. malaccensis mengandung kadar air sebesar 18,33%. ekstrak etil asetat daun a. malaccensis mengandung kadar air sebesar 24,33%, kadar sari larut air 2,64%, kadar sari larut etanol 56,26% dan kadar abu total 2,06%. ekstrak etanol daun a. malaccensis mengandung kadar air sebesar 13,33%, kadar sari larut air 25,83%, kadar sari larut etanol 73,33% dan kadar abu total 9%. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak n-heksana, etil asetat dan etanol daun a. malaccensis memiliki aktivitas sebagai penghambat pertumbuhan a. galli dengan aktivitas paling kecil diberikan oleh ekstrak n-heksana dan aktivitas paling besar diberikan oleh ekstrak etanol. jumlah konsentrasi terkecil masing-masing ekstrak yang mampu menghasilkan aktivitas anti-helminth dengan menyebabkan kematian pada 50% cacing a. galli secara efektif adalah ekstrak etil asetat 42,03% dan ekstrak etanol 24,90%.

Abstract

The continuous use of anti-helminths causes the development of anti-worm drug resistance to continue to increase while the prevalence of worm disease is still very high. Aquilaria malaccensis has the potential to be an alternative anti-helminth because of the presence of compounds that have anti-helminth properties. This study aims to determine the activity of A. malaccensis leaf extract as an inhibitor of the growth of Ascaridia galli and to determine the smallest concentration of extract that is able to provide this activity. A. malaccensis leaves were extracted using a stage maceration method and using distilled n-hexane, ethyl acetate and ethanol as solvents, then the extract was characterized. This research is an experimental laboratory research design with the posttest-only with control group design. Variations in extract concentration are 5; 10; 15; and 20%. A. malaccensis leaf simplicia contains 7.8% water content. The n-hexane extract of A. malaccensis leaves contains 18.33% water content. The ethyl acetate extract of A. malaccensis leaves contains 24.33% water content, 2.64% water-soluble extract content, 56.26% ethanol-soluble extract content, and 2.06% total ash content. The ethanol extract of A. malaccensis leaves contains 13.33% water content, 25.83% water-soluble extract content, 73.33% ethanol-soluble extract content, and 9% total ash content. The results showed that the n-hexane, ethyl acetate and ethanol extracts of A. malaccensis leaves had activity as a growth inhibitor of A. galli with the smallest activity provided by the n-hexane extract and the greatest activity provided by the ethanol extract. The smallest concentration of each extract which was able to produce anti-helminth activity by causing death of 50% of A. galli worms effectively was ethyl acetate extract of 42.03% and ethanol extract. 24.90%.
