Jumlah sel mast pada usus halus ayam kampung (gallus gallus domesticus) abstrak penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghitung jumlah sel mast pada usus halus ayam kampung (gallus gallus domesticus). sampel penelitian menggunakan usus halus dari tiga ekor ayam kampung berjenis kelamin jantan dengan umur ± 6 bulan. usus halus dibagi menjadi 3 bagian yaitu duodenum, jejunum dan ileum, lalu masing-masing bagian dipotong sepanjang 2 cm untuk pembuatan preparat histologi. dimulai dari fiksasi, dehidrasi, penjernihan, pengeblokan dan pemotongan dengan ketebalan 5 µm. proses selanjutnya dilakukan pewarnaan dengan menggunakan alcian blue ph 1.0. jumlah sel mast pada preparat usus halus dihitung per 10 villus criptus unit (vcu). hasil penelitian menunjukan jumlah sel mast pada masing-masing bagian usus halus ayam kampung yaitu duodenum 434,33±9,78, jejunum 498,67±12,49 dan ileum 851,00±21,37. kesimpulan, jumlah sel mast per 10 villus criptus unit (vcu) pada usus halus ayam kampung menunjukan pada bagian ileum jumlah sel mast lebih tinggi dari bagian duodenum dan bagian jejunum. the total of mast cell of intestine chicken (gallus gallus domesticus) abstract the objective research aims to calculated the total of mast cells in the small intestine of chicken (gallus gallus domesticus). the research sample used 3 small intestine of hen. the small intestine divided into 3 parts, duodenum, jejunum and ileum then each of part a cut to 2 cm for histologic preparation. the method was fixation, dehydration, clearing and embedding. 5 µm is choosen for the divided to sample, then the method use alcian blue ph 1.0 for staining. the number of mast cells in the intestine preparations is calculated per 10 villus criptus units (vcu). the analysis of descriptive performed are 434,33 ± 9,78 for duodenum, 498,67 ± 12,49 for jejunum and 851,00 ± 21,37 for ileum. the conclusion showed, the number of mast cells highest in ileum and the number of mast cells in jejunum higher the in duodenum.
