Pendahuluan: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) menyerang saluran pernapasan dan memunculkan manifestasi klinis yang mirip dengan infeksi virus pada saluran pernapasan. SARS-CoV-2 menginfeksi individu dan menyebabkan gejala yang bervariasi mulai dari gejala ringan, gejala berat, dan kritis seperti acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), syok septik dan kematian.

Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan kohort retrospektif dengan desain studi potong lintang . Sampel dikumpulkan dengan metode total sampling. Penyebab kematian dinilai berdasarkan hasil data rekam medik. Data yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini akan disajikan secara univariat menggunakan tabel dan grafik. Penyebab kematian pada penderita COVID-19 yang mendapat perawatan di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Zainal Abidin (RSUDZA) akan disajikan dalam bentuk frekuensi dan persentase.

Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Penyebab kematian terbanyak pada pasien COVID-19 adalah Gagal napas sebanyak 55,2%. Penyebab kematian pada pasien COVID-19 terendah pada penelitian ini adalah gagal ginjal akut (1.2%). Sepsis merupakan penyebab kematian pada pasien COVID-19 dengan jumlah kasus sebanyak 66 kasus (9.1%). Multiple Organ Failure (MOF) merupakan penyebab kematian pada pasien COVID-19 dengan jumlah kasus sebanyak 23 kasus (3.2%). Kadar ferritin berpengaruh signifikan terhadap risiko terjadinya acute cardiac injury (ACI) sebagai penyebab kematian pasien COVID-19.

Kesimpulan: Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan penyebab kematian pada pasien covid-19 adalah gagal nafas, ARDS, gagal ginjal akut, sepsis, MOF, ACI. Rasio PaO2/FiO2 mempengaruhi penyebab kematian yaitu gagal nafas dan ARDS. Kadar ferritin juga berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap risiko terjadinya ACI sebagai penyebab kematian pasien COVID-19.

Introduction: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) attacks the respiratory tract and causes clinical manifestations similar to viral infections of the respiratory tract. SARS-CoV-2 infects individuals and causes symptoms that vary from mild to severe and critical symptoms such as acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), septic shock and death. Methods: This study was a retrospective cohort with a cross-sectional design. Samples were collected by total sampling method. The cause of death was assessed based on the results of medical record data. The data obtained in this study will be presented univariately using tables and graphs. The causes of death for COVID-19 sufferers receiving treatment at the Zainal Abidin Regional General Hospital (RSUDZA) will be presented in terms of frequency and percentage. Results: The results showed that the most common cause of death in COVID-19 patients was respiratory failure as much as 55.2%. The lowest cause of death in COVID-19 patients in this study was acute kidney failure (1.2%). Sepsis is the cause of death in COVID-19 patients with a total of 66 cases (9.1%). Multiple Organ Failure (MOF) is the cause of death in COVID-19 patients with 23 cases (3.2%). Ferritin levels have a significant effect on the risk of acute cardiac injury (ACI) as a cause of death for COVID-19 patients. Discussion: The conclusion in this study is that the causes of death in COVID-19 patients are respiratory failure, ARDS, acute kidney failure, sepsis, MOF, ACI. The ratio of PaO2 to FiO2 affects the cause of death, namely respiratory failure and ARDS, and ferritin levels affect the cause of death.
