Provinsi Aceh memiliki kawasan hutan mangrove banyak terdapat di pesisir yang berada di daerah Aceh Besar. Ekosistem mangrove memiliki keanekaragaman hewan air, baik vertebrata ataupun invertebrata yang tinggi. Salah satu kelompok penghuni ekosistem mangrove yang khas ialah kepiting marga Uca sp. Kepiting marga Uca sp. berperan penting dalam habitatnya dimana secara ekologis memberikan dampak yang besar terhadap lingkungan dengan menguraikan sampah menjadi debris (detritus). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis kelimpahan jenis kepiting Uca sp. dan struktur komposisi serta menganalisis hubungan antara kelimpahan kepiting Uca sp. dengan kerapatan mangrove di Aceh Besar. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan di tiga lokasi yang ditentukan secara Purposive Sampling yaitu Stasiun 1 Ujung Pancu, Stasiun 2 Lam Ujong, Stasiun 3 Desa Brandeh. Hubungan antara kepadatan kepiting Uca sp. dengan vegetasi mangrove dilakukan dengan menggunakan SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ditemukan sembilan jenis kepiting Uca sp. di Aceh Besar, yaitu Uca perplexa, Uca tetragonon, Uca cryptica, Uca coartata, Uca dussumieri, Uca rosea, Uca bellator, Uca vocans dan Uca vomeris. Struktur komunitas kepiting Uca sp. pada ekosistem mangrove di Aceh Besar tergolong dalam kategori sedang, dimana ditunjukan dengan nilai keanekaragaman yang sedang, keseragaman yang tinggi dan dominasi yang rendah. Tidak terdapat korelasi antara kerapatan mangrove dengan kelimpahan kepiting Uca sp. di Aceh Besar dibuktikan dengan nilai Psig. > 0,05.

Aceh Province has a lot of mangrove forest areas in the coast in the Aceh Besar area. The mangrove ecosystem has a high diversity of aquatic animals, both vertebrates and invertebrates. One of the typical mangrove ecosystem inhabitant groups is the Uca sp. Crab of the Uca sp. clan plays an important role in their habitat which ecologically has a major impact on the environment by breaking down waste into debris (detritus). The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the abundance of Uca sp. crab species and compositional structures and to analyze the relationship between abundance of Uca sp. crabs and mangrove density in Aceh Besar. The location of the research was carried out in three locations determined by purposive sampling, namely Station 1 Ujung Pancu, Station 2 Lam Ujong, Station 3 Desa Brandeh. The relation between the density of Uca sp. crabs and mangrove vegetation was carried out using SPSS. The results showed that nine types of Uca sp. crabs were found in Aceh Besar, namely Uca perplexa, Uca tetragonon, Uca cryptica, Uca coartata, Uca dussumieri, Uca rosea, Uca bellator, Uca vocans and Uca vomeris. The structure of the Uca sp. crab community in the mangrove ecosystem in Aceh Besar is in the medium category, which is indicated by the moderate value of diversity, high uniformity and low dominance. There is no correlation between mangrove density and abundance of Uca sp. crabs in Aceh Besar as evidenced by the value of Psig. > 0,05. Keyword: Uca sp. Crab, Mangrove, Aceh Besar
