Denim.
Ragam hias tradisional Aceh Besar merupakan motif peninggalan di masa peradabannya
terdahulu. Seiring berkembangnya zaman dari tahun ke tahun, banyak motif hias Aceh
Besar yang sudah jarang diterapkan dan sangat jarang dikenal dan diketahui oleh
masyarakat Aceh, khususnya masyarakat Aceh Besar. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk mengenalkan ragam hias tradisional Aceh Besar melalui media hand
painting yang sedang tren dikalangan masyarakat. Penelitian menggunakan metode
eksperimen terapan dengan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data
diperoleh melalui studi kepustakaan, observasi, dokumentasi, eksperimen dan kuesioner.
Pengolahan data berupa kuesioner dengan menggunakan media google form dan
dibagikan kepada responden dengan kriteria 10 mahasiswa konsentrasi Tata Busana
Universitas Syiah Kuala yang telah menyelesaikan mata kuliah dasar seni dan desain.
Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan cara penerapan ragam hias Aceh Besar di atas media
pakaian secondhand berbahan denim dengan teknik hand painting dengan menggunakan
cat akrilik dan campuran fabric medium sebagai alat melukis seperti kuas, palet, wadah
air dan fabric medium serta bahan utama dari proses pengecatan diatas kain. Terdapat
beberapa ragam hias tradisional Aceh Besar yang diterapkan pada lukisan hand painting
ini terdiri dari Awan Meucanek, Bungong Keupula, Bungong Jeumpa, Bungong
Seulanga, Bungong Meulu, Oun Ranub, Oun Paku. Berdasarkan ragam hias tradisional
Aceh Besar tersebut dituangkan keatas kain denim bekas (secondhand). Selanjutnya
pakaian denim secondhand tersebut diterapkan menggunakan teknik hand painting
dengan alat dan bahan melukis untuk mengahasilkan dua produk. Produk pertama pada
desain motif ragam hias tradisional Aceh Besar pada jaket denim menghasilkan desain
dan warna yang bernilai seni dengan nuansa yang cerah dengan warna yang kontras dan
berani dengan mengaplikasikan motif Awan Meucanek berwarna biru dengan nuansa
background berwarna kuning. Pada produk kedua diaplikasikan pada kemeja denim,
menghasilkan motif dari ragam hias tradisional Aceh Besar berwarna pastel senada
dengan motif flora (tumbuhan).

Aceh Besar's traditional decorative motifs are heritage motifs from the time of its civilization earlier. As the era progresses from year to year, many Acehnese decorative motifs Large which is rarely applied and very rarely known and known by the people of Aceh, especially the people of Aceh Besar. Therefore this research aims to introduce the traditional decoration of Aceh Besar through hand media painting that is trending among the public. Research using the method applied experimentation with a quantitative research approach. Data collection technique obtained through library research, observation, documentation, experiments and questionnaires. Processing of data in the form of a questionnaire by using media google form and distributed to respondents with the criteria of 10 students concentrating on Fashion Design Syiah Kuala University which has completed art and design basic courses. The results of the research show how to apply the Aceh Besar decoration on the media secondhand clothing made from denim with hand painting techniques using acrylic paint and mixed fabric medium as painting tools such as brushes, palettes, containers water and fabric medium as well as the main ingredients of the painting process on the fabric. There is several traditional Aceh Besar decorations applied to hand paintings it consists of Cloud Meucanek, Bungong Keupula, Bungong Jeumpa, Bungong Seulanga, Bungong Meulu, Uncle Ranub, Uncle Paku. Based on traditional decoration Aceh Besar is poured onto used (secondhand) denim cloth. Furthermore The secondhand denim clothes are applied using hand painting techniques with painting tools and materials to produce two products. First product on the design of the Aceh Besar traditional decorative motifs on the denim jacket produces the design and artistically valuable colors with bright shades with contrasting colors and be bold by applying the Meucanek Cloud motif in blue with nuances yellow background. In the second product it is applied to denim shirts, producing motifs from traditional Aceh Besar decorative motifs in matching pastel colors with floral motifs.
