Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang Karakteristik Sedimen Pesisir dan Rawa Gambut Kuala Bubon, Aceh Barat, pada Februari – Mei 2023. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui karakteristik sedimen pesisir dan faktor yang mempengaruahinya
sekaligus karakteristik rawa gambut berdasarkan sifat fisiknya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, yaitu dengan pengamatan langsung kelapangan dan analisis sampel di laboratorium. Data yang dikumpulkan berupa data
primer dan data sekunder. Sedimen dan rawa gambut merupakan faktor yang didominasi oleh lautan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pesisir Kuala Bubon memiliki panjang ± 594.15 m yang berbatasan langsung dengan Pelabuhan Meulaboh, dan muara. Rawa gambut pada penelitian ini diberi batasan berupa pondasi dengan panjang ±37,47, dan ditumbuhi berbagai macam vegetasi. Hasil persen berat fraksi didominasi pasir halus pada stasiun 4. Rawa gambut termasuk dalam kategori dangkal karena berada di antara 0-100 cm, warna rawa gambut didominasi warna gelap, berat isi rawa gambut yang termasuk rendah, kadar air rawa gambut terberat berada pada stasiun 1 sebesar 79,17 g/cm3, sekaligus kematangan rawa gambut berada pada kematangan hemik (setengah matang), karena V2/V1 antara 33-66%.

Research has been conducted on the Characteristics of Coastal Sediments and Peat Swamp Kuala Bubon, West Aceh, in February – May 2023. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of coastal sediments and the factors that influence them as well as the characteristics of peat swamps based on their physical properties. This study uses qualitative descriptive methods, namely by direct observation of the field and analysis of samples in the laboratory. The data collected is in the form of primary data and secondary data. Peat sediments and swamps are factors dominated by the ocean. The results of this study show that the coast of Kuala Bubon has a length of ± 594.15 m which is directly adjacent to Meulaboh Port, and estuaries. The peat swamp in this study was limited in the form of a foundation with a length of ±37.47, and overgrown with various kinds of vegetation. The weight percent yield of the fraction is dominated by fine sand at station 4. Peat swamps are included in the shallow category because they are between 0-100 cm, the color of peat swamps is dominated by dark colors, the weight of peat swamp contents is low, the heaviest peat swamp moisture content is at station 1 of 79.17 g /cm3, as well as the maturity of peat swamps is in hemik maturity (half-mature), because V2 / V1 is between 33-66%.
