Pembelajaran matematika seringkali didominasi oleh hafalan rumus dan prosedur yang tidak ada kaitannya dengan dunia nyata. Akibatnya siswa kurang termotivasi dan kesulitan menghubungkan konsep matematika dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Pendekatan Matematika Realistik (PMR) memberi kesempatan kepada siswa untuk menemukan konsep secara mandiri untuk memecahkan masalah matematika yang muncul dalam situasi nyata. Dengan memadukan literasi numerasi dalam pembelajaran matematika, siswa dapat memahami pentingnya matematika dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengukur efektivitas Pendekatan Matematika Realistik (PMR) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa SMP. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode experiment dengan desain penelitian One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IX di SMP IT Nurul Ishlah. Data dikumpulkan dari hasil tes kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa dalam bentuk pre-test dan post-test, lembar aktivitas siswa, lembar observasi guru dan lembar refleksi siswa. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji N-Gain dan uji-t, serta persentase rata-rata dari lembar observasi dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Pendekatan Matematika Realistik (PMR) dapat meningkatkan kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa. 2) Pendekatan Matematika Realistik (PMR) dapat meningkatkan aktivitas siswa dalam belajar. 3) Kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran menggunakan Pendekatan Matematika Realistik (PMR) termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. 4) Refleksi siswa setelah melaksanakan pembelajaran menggunakan Pendekatan Matematika Realistik (PMR) menunjukkan reaksi yang positif.

ABSTRACT Saiful Ahyar. 2023. Effectiveness of Realistic Mathematics Approach to Improve Numeracy Literacy of Junior High School Students. Mathematics learning is often dominated by memorization of formulas and procedures that have nothing to do with the real world. As a result, students are less motivated and have difficulty connecting mathematical concepts with everyday life. The Realistic Mathematics Approach (PMR) provides opportunities for students to discover concepts independently to solve mathematical problems that arise in real situations. By integrating numeracy literacy in mathematics learning, students can understand the importance of mathematics in everyday life. The purpose of this study was to measure the effectiveness of Realistic Mathematics Approach (PMR) in improving numeracy literacy skills of junior high school students. This study used an experimental method with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research subjects were ninth grade students at Nurul Ishlah IT Junior High School. Data were collected from the results of the student numeracy literacy test in the form of pre-test and post-test, student activity sheets, teacher observation sheets and student reflection sheets. The data were analyzed using the N-Gain test and t-test, as well as the average percentage of the observation and reflection sheets. The results showed that: 1) Realistic Mathematics Approach (PMR) can improve students' numeracy literacy skills. 2) Realistic Mathematics Approach (PMR) can improve students' activities in learning. 3) The teacher's ability to manage learning using the Realistic Mathematics Approach (PMR) is in the very good category. 4) Students' reflections after implementing learning using the Realistic Mathematics Approach (PMR) showed a positive reaction.
