Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis mulsa organik dan varietas serta interaksi antara keduanya terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman cabai merah pada tanah Inceptisol. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kebun Percobaan I dan Laboratorium Hortikultura, Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Syiah Kuala, Banda Aceh dimulai dari bulan Desember 2022 hingga April 2023. Rancangan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu Rancangan Acak Kelompok pola faktorial 3x3 dengan 3 ulangan yang terdiri dari dua faktor. Jenis mulsa organik yaitu tanpa mulsa, mulsa jerami padi dan mulsa sekam padi merupakan faktor pertama dan jenis varietas yaitu Laba F1, Laju F1 dan Perintis F1 merupakan faktor kedua. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan adanya interaksi antara jenis mulsa organik dan varietas pada jumlah cabang produktif. Interaksi antara jenis mulsa organik dengan varietas berpengaruh nyata pada jumlah cabang produktif, namun parameter lainnya berpengaruh tidak nyata. Interaksi antara jenis mulsa Kombinasi perlakuan terbaik adalah perlakuan mulsa jerami padi dan varietas laba F1 untuk pertumbuhan dan hasil cabai merah dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya.

This study aims to determine the effect of organic mulch types and varieties and the interaction between the two on the growth and yield of red chili plants on Inceptisol soil. This research was conducted at Experimental Garden I and Horticulture Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh starting from December 2022 to April 2023. The design used in this study was a 3x3 factorial pattern Randomized Group Design with 3 replications consisting of two factors. The type of organic mulch is without mulch, rice straw mulch and rice husk mulch is the first factor and the type of variety is Laba F1, Laju F1 and Perintis F1 is the second factor. The results showed that there was an interaction between types of organic mulch and varieties on the amount of productive branches. The interaction between the type of organic mulch and varieties had a real effect on the amount of productive branches, but other parameters had no real effect. The interaction between the type of mulch The best treatment combination is the treatment of rice straw mulch and F1 profit variety for the growth and yield of red chili compared to other treatments.
