Salah satu sumber antioksidan alami yang berasal dari minyak atsiri adalah minyak nilam dan minyak cempaka kuning. Kombinasi kedua minyak atsiri tersebut diformulasikan menjadi produk perawatan wajah yaitu facial wash. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah membuat sediaan facial wash berbasis minyak nilam dan minyak cempaka kuning yang memenuhi persyaratan mutu sediaan yang baik dan konsisten, mengetahui efektivitas antioksidan dan mengetahui keamanan sediaan facial wash kombinasi minyak nilam dan minyak cempaka kuning. Formula dibuat berdasarkan studi praformulasi dengan metode trial and error. Pengujian evaluasi mutu facial wash meliputi uji organoleptis, homogenitas, pH, viskositas, dan tinggi busa. Pengujian stabilitas facial wash meliputi uji stabilitas dipercepat, diperpanjang, dan sentrifugasi. Uji efektivitas sediaan dilakukan dengan melihat parameter elastisitas, pigmen, dan kadar air. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa minyak nilam dan minyak cempaka kuning dapat diformulasikan dalam bentuk facial wash serta memenuhi kriteria evaluasi yang baik. Pengulangan yang dilakukan menghasilkan sediaan yang konsisten dari seluruh aspek evaluasi kecuali pH, namun masih memenuhi rentang standar, memiliki efektivitas meningkatkan elastisitas dan pigmen, mengurangi pigmen pada kulit wajah, tidak menunjukkan reaksi positif iritasi seperti eritema dan edema, dan memenuhi syarat terhadap seluruh parameter cemaran mikroba dan logam berat.

One source of natural antioxidants from essential oils is patchouli oil and champaca oil. The combination of these two essential oils is formulated into a facial wash product. The purpose of this research is to make patchouli and champaca oil-based facial wash formulations that qualify the quality of the good formulation and consistent, determine the effectiveness of antioxidants and determine the safety of facial wash formulations with a combination of patchouli and champaca oil. The formula is made based on a preformulation study with the trial and error method. Quality evaluation test of facial wash includes organoleptical test, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, and foam height. Stability testing of the facial wash includes accelerated, extended, and centrifugation stability tests. The effectiveness test of the formulation was analyzed by observing the parameters of elasticity, pigment, and moisture content. The results of this study showed that patchouli oil and champaca oil can be formulated in the form of facial wash and comply with good evaluation criteria, the repetition produced consistent results from all aspects of evaluation except pH, but still in the standard range, has the effectiveness to increase elasticity and pigment, reduce pigment on face, didn’t show positive reactions of irritation such as erythema and edema, and qualified for all parameters of the contamination of microbes and heavy metals.
