​Penelitian ini membahas tentang: Nilai-nilai Sosial dalam Kenduri Kematian di Madat Aceh Timur. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi pengamatan peneliti yang dimana Setiap daerah tentu kerap mengadakan acara kenduri kematian, dan proses pelaksaan disetiap daerah tentunya berbeda-beda. Ada yang melaksanan kenduri sampai di hari ketiga saja dan juga ada yang melaksanakan hanya pada hari ke tujuh dan ke sepuluh sajaa. Oleh karena itu, pada acara kenduri kematian di masyarakat Madat juga melakukan penyajian makanan setelah proses tahlilan selesai. Makanan-makanan yang disediakan diacara tahlilan tersebut dibuat sendiri dari pihak keluarga dan di bantu oleh para tetangga dan warga setempat. Hal tersebut sebagai tanda sayang terhadap keluarga yang ditinggalkan dan sebagai bentuk rasa tolong-menolong. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) Untuk mendeskripsikan Bagaimana Pelaksanaan Tradisi Upacara Kematian di Kecamatan Madat Aceh Timur (2) Untuk mengetahui Nilai-nilai apa saja yang terkandung dalam Upacara Kematian di Kecamatan Madat Aceh Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa berupa observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian kualitatif yang terdiri dari reduksi data, penyajian data dan menarik kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Proses pelaksanaan kenduri kematian dilaksanakan sebagai mestinya, sesudah mengantarkan jenazah ke tempat peristirahatan sanak saudara dan Masyarakat langsung mulai menyiapkan kenduri untuk Masyarakat yang ikut samadiah pada malam pertama almarhum. Adapun tujuan kenduri kematian dilaksanakan guna untuk mengirimkan doa dan pahala untuk almarhum. Serta pelaksanaan kenduri kematian dimulai dari hari pertama hingga hari ke 100. Adapun hari-hari besar pelaksaanaan kenduri ialah pada hari kelima, seunujoh, dan hari ke tiga puluh. (2) Masyarakat Madat mempunyai sikap sosial yang sangat baik. Hal ini dapat dilihat bagaimana sikap Masyarakat dalam membantu keluarga yang berduka. Sebagai bentuk kepedulian Masyarakat turut serta dalam memberikan tenaga, serta sedekah kepada keluarga yang terkena musibah tanpa mengharapkan imbalan. Kesimpulannya bentuk-bentuk nilai sosial yang terkandung dalam kenduri kematian ialah nilai kerohanian yang terdiri dari Nilai tolong-menolong, Nilai solidaritas dan Nilai Silaturahmi. Kemudian, nilai materil yang terdapat dalam kenduri kematian berupa sedekah uang, makan, dan kebutuhan yang diperlukan dalam pelaksaan kenduri. Selain itu, nilai vital yang terkandung dalam kenduri ialah pemberian kain kafan dan keurenda..

This research is based on researchers' observations that each region often holds death festivals, and the implementation process in each region is of course different. There are those who only carry out the feast until the third day and there are also those who only carry it out on the seventh and tenth days. Therefore, at the funeral feast in the Madat community, food is also served after the tahlilan process is complete. The food provided at the tahlilan event is made by the family themselves and helped by neighbors and local residents. This is a sign of love for the family left behind and as a form of mutual help. The aims of this research are: (1) To describe how the Death Ceremony Tradition is Implemented in the Madat District of East Aceh (2) To find out what values ​​are contained in the Death Ceremony in the Madat District of East Aceh. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research type. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques in qualitative research consist of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that (1) The process of carrying out the death feast was carried out properly, after delivering the body to the resting place of the relatives and the community immediately began preparing the feast for the community who took part in the samadiah on the first night of the deceased. The purpose of the death festival is to send prayers and rewards to the deceased. And the celebration of the death festival starts from the first day to the 100th day. The big days for the festival are the fifth day, seunujoh, and the thirtieth day. (2) Indigenous people have very good social attitudes. This can be seen in the community's attitude in helping bereaved families. As a form of concern, the community participates in providing energy and alms to families affected by disaster without expecting anything in return. In conclusion, the forms of social values ​​contained in the death feast are spiritual values ​​consisting of the value of helping, the value of solidarity and the value of friendship. Then, the material values ​​contained in the death feast are in the form of alms, money, food and necessities needed for the celebration of the feast.
