ABSTRAK
Ikat celup merupakan suatu cara membuat ragam hias diatas permukaan kain dengan menutup bagian yang tidak dikehendaki terkena warna dengan media ikatan atau jahitan, setiap motif yang dihasilkan dari teknik ikat celup memiliki ciri khas tersendiri dan tidak selalu memiliki kesamaan satu sama lain, sehingga motif motif yang unik dan beragam dapat dijumpai pada teknik ikat celup tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membuat motif kain dengan teknik ikat celup dan membuat produk baju casual dengan teknik ikat celup, serta mengetahui daya tarik mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Kesejahteraan Keluarga konsentrasi Tata Busana terhadap produk baju casual yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen terapan dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah studi kepustakaan, dokumentasi, eksperimen terapan, wawancara, dan teknik analisis data. Peneliti melakukan wawancara dengan 6 orang responden. 1 panelis pengrajin yang memiliki pengetahuan dan mempunyai usaha ikat celup dan 5 mahasiswa angkatan 2020 yang sudah lulus mata kuliah ilmu tekstil dengan kumulatif nilai A, dan asli orang banda aceh. Penelitian ini telah menghasilkan 2 busana casual dengan kain motif ikat celup yang menggunakan teknik mengikat benda. Secara keseluruhan dari hasil wawancara pendapat panelis tentang teknik ikat celup memberikan tanggapan yang sangat baik, penggunaan teknik ikat celup sangat sesuai dengan desain busana casual, pemilihan warna yang cocok untuk anak remaja dan penempatan motif ikat celup sesuai dengan model baju yang didesain.

ABSTRACT Tie-dye is a way of making decorations on the surface of fabric by covering the parts that are not desired to be exposed to color with bonding or stitching media. Each motif produced from the tie-dye technique has its own characteristics and does not always have similarities with each other, so that the motifs are Unique and varied can be found in tie dyeing techniques. The aim of this research is to create fabric motifs using the tie-dye technique and make casual clothing products using the tie-dye technique, as well as determine the attraction of students from the Family Welfare Education Study Program with a concentration in Fashion on the casual clothing products produced. This research uses an applied experimental method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques in this research are literature study, documentation, applied experiments, interviews, and data analysis techniques. Researchers conducted interviews with 6 respondents. 1 craftsman panelist who has knowledge and owns a tie-dye business and 5 students from the class of 2020 who have passed the textile science course with a cumulative grade of A, and are originally from Banda Aceh. This research has produced 2 casual clothes with tie-dye motifs that use the technique of tying objects. Overall, from the interview results, the panelists' opinions regarding the tie-dye technique gave a very good response, the use of the tie-dye technique is very suitable for casual clothing design, the choice of colors is suitable for teenagers and the placement of the tie-dye motif is in accordance with the clothing model being designed.
