Berbagai usaha telah dilakukan guru dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis namun dalam mengatur strategi dan taktik masih belum fokus untuk dilakukan oleh guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pembelajaran case study terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa di SMA. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian kuasi eksperimen desain posttest-only-control group design. Populasi seluruh siswa XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Simpang Kiri. Mengingat jumlah populasi yang banyak maka dipilih sampel, dua kelas yaitu XI IPA 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol dengan jumlah siswa setiap kelasnya adalah 30 siswa, ditentukan melalui random sampling. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian menggunakan instrumen soal essai berupa posttest. Analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas sebagai uji prasyarat dan menggunakan statistik uji-t, sedangkan data kemampuan berpikir kritis diperoleh dari persentase ketercapaian indikator. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa data yang diperoleh berdistribusi normal dan bersifat homogen. Sedangkan hasil analisis uji-t lebih tinggi kelas eksperimen dari pada kelas kontrol, hal ini diperoleh t-hitung 2,15796743 > t-tabel = 1,671 artinya terdapat pengaruh signifikan pembelajran case study terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa di SMA,dan hasil peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa bahwa skor rata-rata indikator yang tertinggi terdapat di kelas eksperimen yaitu pada indikator membangun keterampilan dasar sebesar 100% dengan kategori sangat baik.

Students' critical thinking skills are closely related to solving physics problems. However, currently students' critical thinking skills are still low. This study aims to analyze the effect of case study learning on students' critical thinking skills in high school; The research used a quantitative approach with the type of quasi-experimental research design posttest-only-control group design; Population of all XI IPA students of SMA Negeri 1 Simpang Kiri; Given the large population, a sample was selected, two classes namely XI IPA 3 as the experimental class and XI IPA 1 as the control class with the number of students in each class is 30 students, determined through random sampling; Data collection in the study used essay question instruments in the form of posttest; Data analysis uses normality test, homogeneity test as a prerequisite test and uses t-test statistics, while critical thinking ability data is obtained from the percentage of indicator achievement; The results of data analysis show that the data obtained are normally distributed and homogeneous; While the results of the t-test analysis are higher in the experimental class than the control class, this is obtained t-count 2.15796743 > t-table = 1.671, meaning that there is a significant effect of case study learning on students' critical thinking skills in high school and the results of increasing students' critical thinking skills that the highest average score of indicators is in the experimental class, namely in the indicator of building basic skills of 100% with a very good category.
