ABSTRAK
Setiap pemimpin daerah maupun organasasi pasti memiliki gaya kepemimpinan yang berbeda-beda. Gaya kepemimpinan sangat berpengaruh pada citra daerah ataupun organisasi yang dipimpin oleh pemimpin tersebut. Penelitian ini dibuat dengan tujuan untuk melihat apakah gaya kepemimpinan seorang walikota dapat meningkatkan citra positif kota yang dipimpinnya. Landasan teori yang digunakan yaitu teori pemulihan citra. Pemulihan citra dilakukan untuk meningkatkan dan memperbaiki citra yang kurang baik di masa kepemimpinan yang sebelumnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei (kuisioner). Hasil analisis 283 data yang diolah menggunakan program IBM SPSS 25 mengunakan Uji F dan Uji T. Uji F menunjukkan bahwa p-value gaya kepemimpinan 0.00 < 0.05, sehingga dinyatakan variabel ini berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan citra positif (Y). Hasil uji R Square menunjukkan nilai R Square 0.668 (66.8%) yang berarti variabel independen mempengaruhi variabel dependen sebesar 66.8%. Gaya kepemimpinan yang dimiliki oleh walikota Bobby Nasution memiliki pengaruh terhadap peningkatan citra positif Kota Medan. Peneliti menyarakan untuk kedepannya masyarakat memilih pemimpin daerah yang memiliki gaya kepemimpinan seperti Bobby Nasution atau bahkan bisa lebih.

ABSTRACT Every regional leader and organization must have a different leadership style. Leadership style is very influential on the image of the region or organization led by the leader. This study was made with the aim to see if the leadership style of a mayor can improve the positive image of the city he leads. The theoretical basis used is the theory of image recovery. Image restoration is carried out to improve and correct the image that was not good in the previous leadership period. This study used a quantitative approach with survey methods (questionnaires). The results of the analysis of 283 data processed using the IBM SPSS 25 program using Test F and Test T. Test F showed that the p-value of leadership style was 0.00 < 0.05, so it was stated that this variable had a significant effect on improving positive image (Y). The results of the R Square test show an R Square value of 0.668 (66.8%) which means that the independent variable affects the dependent variable by 66.8%. The leadership style possessed by mayor Bobby Nasution has an influence on improving the positive image of Medan City. Researchers suggest that in the future people choose regional leaders who have leadership styles such as Bobby Nasution or even more. Keywords: Leadership Style, Communication, Positive Image
