Plankton merupakan sekumpulan organisme kecil yang hidup terombang-ambing mengikuti arus dan arah air, plankton di perairan dapat dibagi menjadi dua bagian, zooplankton. zooplankton banyak di jumpai di perairan mangrove Aceh Besar dan Banda Aceh meliputi kelimpahan, keanekaragaman, keseragaman, dominansi dan kesamaan jenis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas zooplankton. Penelitian ini dilakukan Pada lokasi Desa Cadek, Desa Baet, Desa Pande dan Desa Blang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan bahwa komposisi jenis zooplankton di perairan mangrove Banda Aceh dan Aceh Besar terdapat 6 jenis dengan kelimpahan total 8.800 ind/l. Indeks keanekaagaman kategori rendah-sedang dengan nilai 0,7 - 1,1 indeks keseragaman dengan nilai 1 dengan katagori tinggi dan nilai dominansi dengan nilai 0,5 kategori rendah.

Plankton is a group of small organisms that live swaying along the current and direction of the water. Plankton in waters can be divided into two parts, namely phytoplankton and zooplankton. Plankton is often found in the mangrove waters of Aceh Besar and Banda Aceh including abundance, diversity, uniformity, dominance and similarity of species. This research aims to determine the structure of the zooplankton community. This research was conducted at Cadek Village, Baet Village, Pande Village and Blang Village locations. The method used in the research is purposive sampling. The results of the research found that the composition of zooplankton species in the mangrove waters of Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar contained 6 types with a total abundance of 8,800 ind/l. The diversity index is in the low-medium category with a value of 0.7 - 1.1, the uniformity index is with a value of 1 in the high category and the dominance value is 0.5 in the low category.
