Seiring dengan perkembangan zaman, tradisi tutur sapa jamee sudah mulai jarang
digunakan dalam acara adat khususnya di Aceh, masuknya hiburan populer yang
semata hanya untuk kesenangan rasa, dikuatirkan terjadi pergeseran makna bahkan
hilang akibat arus budaya globalisasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui
prosesi dan tahapan tradisi Sapa Jamee dalam adat perkawinan masyarakat Desa
Tokoh, Kecamatan Manggeng, Kabupaten Aceh Barat Daya. Sapa Jamee. Metode
penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif-deskriptif, dengan teknik observasi,
wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Sapa Jamee
terdiri dari berbagai tahapan, yaitu persiapan, pembukaan, pertukaran salam, sesi
berbalas pantun, dan penyampaian doa serta harapan. Tradisi ini mencerminkan
nilai-nilai kekeluargaan, interaksi sosial, dan pelestarian budaya. Selain makna
sosial dan budaya, Sapa Jamee juga memiliki signifikansi emosional sebagai
ekspresi perasaan kepuasan batin akan penguatan kenangan indah dalam
pernikahan. Namun, tradisi ini menghadapi tantangan pelestarian seiring perubahan
zaman. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan inovasi pada isi tradisi agar relevan
dengan tren masa kini, untuk mendukung keberlanjutan tradisi dalam masyarakat.

Under the guidance of Tengku Hartati, S.Pd., M.Pd and Yuli Astuti, S.Pd., M.Pd. As a country rich in culture, Indonesia has unique customs and cultures in each region, including Aceh Province. From these customs and cultures, various traditions were born which became the identity of the Nation. One of the traditions that is always attached to every ethnic group in Indonesia is the tradition contained in the marriage custom. This research aims to find out the procession and stages of the Sapa Jamee tradition in the marriage customs of the Tokoh Village community, Manggeng District, Southwest Aceh Regency. Sapa Jamee, as a tradition of exchanging rhymes, is carried out in the Intat Linto procession, which is the delivery of the groom to the bride's house. This tradition functions as a means of communication, cultural preservation, and strengthening relationships between families. The research used a qualitative-descriptive approach, with observation, interviews, and documentation techniques as data analysis techniques. The results showed that Sapa Jamee consisted of various stages, namely preparation, opening, exchanging greetings, rhyming sessions, and delivering prayers and wishes. This tradition reflects family values, social interaction, and cultural preservation. In addition to social and cultural meanings, Sapa Jamee also has emotional significance as an expression of feelings and reinforcement of fond memories in marriage. However, this tradition faces preservation challenges as times change. This research recommends innovation in the content of the tradition to be relevant to current trends, to support the sustainability of the tradition in the community.
