ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini berjudul “Komunikasi Interpersonal Siswa Korban School Bullying dengan Teman Sekolah (Studi Fenomenologi Dampak School Bullying Pada Siswa SMP Negeri 6 Banda Aceh). Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana dampak school bullying terhadap komunikasi interpersonal siswa dengan teman sekolah. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan studi fenomenologi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara mendalam dan observasi dengan 5 orang siswa korban bullying di sekolah. Penelitian ini memfokuskan pada bullying verbal berupa ejekan, intimidasi, pemberian nama panggilan, pengucilan, hasut, fitnah dan ancaman. Penelitian menggunakan Teori Manajemen Privasi Komunikasi dimana teori ini memperlihatkan bagaimana korban bullying mengatur ruang publik dan ruang pribadi yang berisi informasi tentang dirinya kepada orang lain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi interpersonal siswa korban bullying dengan teman sekolah berlangsung tidak efektif. School bullying berdampak pada empat dari lima indikator efektivitas komunikasi interpersonal yaitu keterbukaan (openess), empati (empathy), dukungan (supportiveness), dan kesamaan (equality). School bullying menyebabkan korban mengalami kesulitan dalam berbagi informasi tentang dirinya kepada siswa lain. Korban bullying juga memiliki empati yang rendah terhadap siswa yang dinilai tidak akrab dengan korban. Tindakan bullying yang dialami korban menyebabkan korban tidak menunjukkan dukungan terhadap siswa di sekitarnya. Korban hanya menjalin komunikasi pada beberapa siswa yang disukai korban. Hal ini menyebabkan korban bullying menghindari komunikasi dengan siswa lain sehingga korban cenderung menjadi pribadi yang tertutup dan pendiam.

ABSTRACT
This study is entitled "Interpersonal Communication of School Bullying Victims (Phenomenology Study of School Bullying Impact on Students of SMP Negeri 6 Banda Aceh). The study aims to determine the effects of school bullying on student interpersonal communication with their friends. The study used descriptive qualitative method with phenomenological study. Data collection techniques used were in-depth interviews and observations with 5 victims of school bullying at school. This study focused on verbal bullyings such as mockery, intimidation, name calling, ostracism, pitting, defamation, and threatening. The study used Communication Privacy Management Theory which states that bullying victims regulate public area and private area concerning their personal information to significant others. The results showed that interpersonal communication of bullied students was ineffective. School bullying affects four of the five indicators of interpersonal communication effectiveness, openness, empathy, supportiveness, and equality. School bullying causes the victims to be reluctant to share their personal information with other students. Victims of bullying also have low empathy toward students who are not their close friends. Bullying caused them not show any support the other students. They only communicate to some students they preferred. This leads them to avoid communication with other students. Thus, they tend to be introvert and subdued.
