Abstrak
Newcastle disease (ND) merupakan salah satu penyakit infeksius yang penting dalam industri perunggasan. Virus ini dapat menyerang berbagai jenis unggas termasuk ayam kate. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghitung titer antibodi virus ND pada ayam kate di Kecamatan Syiah Kuala. Metode pemeriksaan titer antigen menggunakan uji HA, sedangkan pemeriksaan titer antibodi menggunakan uji HI. Lima belas sampel serum didapatkan dari ayam kate yang tersebar di Kecamatan Syiah Kuala. Data diolah secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 4 dari 15 sampel positif adanya antibodi virus ND dengan rincian 3 (20%) sampel protektif terhadap virus ND dan 1 sampel bersifat non protektif. sedangkan 11 sampel menunjukkan negatif adanya antibodi terhadap virus ND. Tingkat proteksi ayam kate terhadap virus ND tergolong rendah sehingga rentan terhadap infeksi virus ND.

Abstract
Newcastle disease (ND) is an important infectious disease in the poultry industry. This virus can attack various types of poultry including kate chickens. This aims of this study to calculate the ND virus antibody titer in kate chickens in the Syiah Kuala District. The method of examining the antigen titer uses the HA test, while the antibody titer examination uses the HI test. Fifteen serum samples were obtained from kate chickens scattered in Syiah Kuala District. The data were processed descriptively. The results showed that 4 out of 15 samples were positive for the ND virus antibody, with details of 3 (20%) protective samples against the ND virus and 1 sample being non-protective. Meanwhile, 11 samples showed negative antibodies against the ND virus. The level of protection of kate chickens against ND viruses is low so it is vulnerable to the ND virus.
