This study is entitled "The Use Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) in Teaching Writing Procedure Text." The objective of this study is to look at some given theories and/or research findings on the use contextual teaching and learning (CTL) in teaching writing procedure text. The discussion of the approach is focused on a particular technique under the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL), namely Learning Community. The students are accustomed to learning together with their friends to write about procedure text in a group. The result of learning is obtained from working with their friends. It may occur either in the classroom or outside the classroom.The method used in this study is library research that divides its activities only collecting infonnation from various types of journals, magazines, books. articles. or materials in the library collection without doing field research in order to solve the problems is being investigated. Based on the research findings and experts' statements, it is found that Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) is effective in writing procedure text. This study is expected to be useful for other English teachers.
