The objective of this study is to look at some given theories and/or research findings on the use of Contextual Teaching and Learning in teaching reading to junior high school students. Reading is very important for students in learning English as foreign language. However, the students sometimes get difficulties in reading. In doing so, the teacher should apply the appropriate method in teaching reading. The study found that using the Contextual Teaching and Learning can help students to connect the learning material to their context in real-life-situation. Besides, the Contextual Teaching Learning is an appropriate method in teaching reading. The result of this study can be used as a treatment model in learning reading. The method used in this study is library research, which is accessed through the library and the internet Readings obtained are processed and described in a qualitative manner.
