Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini Bagaimana Kemampuan Siswa Kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Banda Aceh dalam Mengidentifikasi Konjungsi pada Teks Berita Harian Serambi Indonesia. Tujuan Penelitian ini untuk menentukan kemampuan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Banda Aceh dalam mengidentifikasi konjungsi pada teks berita Harian Serambi Indonesia. Manfaat penelitian ini dapat ditinjau dari dua aspek, yaitu aspek teoritis dan praktis. Secara teoritis hasil penelitian ini akan bermanfaat untuk memperkaya khazanah ilmu pengetahuan khususnya dalam menulis teks. Secara praktis hasil penelitian ini akan bermanfaat bagi beberapa pihak. Pertama, untuk peneliti hasil penelitian ini akan dapat menambah ilmu dan pengalaman langsung tentang mengidentifikasi konjungsi pada teks berita. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan ialah deskriptif. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 15% dari 256 siswa (38 siswa). Teknik yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik tes. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah nilai rata-rata dari keseluruhan aspek yang diperoleh siswa adalah 76,26 yang termasuk ke dalam kategori baik. Nilai rata-rata dari mengidentifikasi konjungsi koordinatif adalah 83,68 (kategori baik), nilai rata-rata mengidentifikasi konjungsi subordinatif adalah 83,68 (kategori baik), nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh dari mengidentifikasi konjungsi korelatif adalah 68,84 (kategori cukup), nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh dari mengidentifikasi konjungsi antarkalimat adalah 67,44 (kategori cukup). Secara keseluruhan nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh siswa dapat dikategorikan tuntas. KKM yang berlaku di SMP Negeri 2 Banda Aceh, yaitu 75.

The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Banda Aceh in identifying conjunctions in the news text of the Serambi Indonesia Daily. The benefits of this research can be viewed from two aspects, namely theoretical and practical aspects. Theoretically, the results of this study will be useful for enriching the treasures of science, especially in writing texts. Practically the results of this study will be useful for several parties. First, for researchers the results of this study will be able to add knowledge and direct experience about identifying conjunctions in news texts. This research is a quantitative research. The type of research used is descriptive. The research sample was 15% of 256 students (38 students). The technique used in this research is a test technique. The result of this study is the average value of all aspects obtained by students is 76.26 which is included in the good category. The average value of identifying coordinating conjunctions is 83.68 (good category), the average value of identifying subordinating conjunctions is 83.68 (good category), the average value obtained from identifying correlative conjunctions is 68.84 (fair category). ), the average value obtained from identifying conjunctions between sentences is 67.44 (enough category). Overall the average value obtained by students can be categorized as complete. The KKM applicable at SMP Negeri 2 Banda Aceh is 75.
